Back to School Supplies for Fourth Grade

2008-2009

Dear Parents,

We are looking forward to an exciting year working with your child in fourth grade. In order to be prepared, we ask that your child come to school on the first day with the following supplies:

 

c	Several pencils
c	Several erasers
c	Crayons or coloring pencils
c	A pen
c	A glue stick
c	2 marble composition books
c	A pencil BAG with a zipper to store pencils, glue, crayons, etc.
c	A 1.5 inch three ring binder with pockets (for Social Studies, Science, and Math)
c	A 1.5 inch three ring binder with pockets (for Language Arts)
c	A 1.5 inch three ring binder with pockets (for Reading)
c	A package of dividers for the binders
c	1A Duo Tang floder with three prongs and pockets (for Sign and Return Packets)

Our goal is to help each child develop organizational skills, and the above listed materials will assist in reaching this goal. In addition, we will provide assignment books at the start of the school year for your child to record daily assignments.

Fourth graders will read and write daily. In order to prepare your child, please encourage him or her to read daily throughout the summer and to write often in a journal, letters, grocery lists, phone messages, etc. Students should also practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts during the summer.
